On Saturday, July 12, Zucchero and Mario Biondi will perform an Italian night with international flair at the Schlossplatz.

Zucchero
Zucchero, one of the most significant rock blues artists in Italy, has sold over 60 million records in his career. One of his biggest successes is the album "Oro, Incenso & Birra", which sold 8 million copies. He was the first Western artist to perform at the Kremlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the only Italian to take part in the 1994 Woodstock Festival. Together with Luciano Pavarotti, he organized the charity gala "Pavarotti & Friends" and has performed in 69 countries worldwide.

Zucchero has collaborated with numerous international artists, including Eric Clapton, Sting, Bono, and Andrea Bocelli. Some of his most famous performances include concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, the Woodstock Festival, and the Freddie Mercury Tribute. He has also been involved in charitable causes, such as the 46664 events for Nelson Mandela and the "One World: Together at Home" livestream during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 2023, he celebrated his 40th career anniversary with concerts in Reggio Emilia and made a surprise appearance at a Coldplay concert. In 2024, he embarked on his "Overdose D’Amore World Tour", celebrating the 35th anniversary of his hit "Overdose (D’Amore)".

Mario Biondi
Mario Biondi is known for his warm, deep voice and passion for music, inspired by his father, singer Stefano Biondi. He began supporting international artists like Ray Charles in 1988 and celebrated his breakthrough with the single This Is What You Are.
His debut album, Handful of Soul, was released in 2006 and achieved platinum status. Biondi has collaborated with many renowned artists and released numerous successful albums. He has performed at prestigious jazz festivals and released the album Sun in 2013.
After the album Brasil in 2018 and the single Sunny Day in 2019, he returned in 2021 with Dare. In 2022, he released the album Romantic. In 2023, he followed up with a reinterpretation of My Favourite Things as a preview for Crooning Undercover, which was released on September 29, 2023, accompanied by a sold-out tour in Italy.

Venue

The biggest jazzopen events take place at Schlossplatz Stuttgart. Three acts take the stage each evening and their concerts can be experienced with just one ticket. On the grandstand, especially built for visitors, plenty of seating is available as well as standing space in between the stage and the grandstand. World stars of pop, rock, soul and jazz music will perform on the impressive stage in front of a spectacular backdrop in the Ehrenhof of the New Palace. Schlossplatz will be the main stage for the second part of the jazzopen from 7 to 13 July 2025.
