Al Di Meola
Al Di Meola, a renowned guitarist, has enjoyed a four-decade career marked by intricate rhythms, lyrical melodies, and complex harmonies. His accolades include gold and platinum albums, critical acclaim, and various awards, including 12 Guitar Player Magazine awards. Di Meola has released over 30 albums, both as a leader and collaborator, pushing the boundaries of jazz with world music influences. Hes known for blending flamenco, tango, and more into his music. Notable collaborations include the Guitar Trio with Paco de Lucia and John McLaughlin. His recent projects include an acoustic Beatles tribute and original compositions, and hes also working on an autobiography and a new solo guitar record. Di Meola continues to evolve his style and make significant contributions to music.

Meshell Ndegeocello
Meshell Ndegeocello, a GRAMMY-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter, has made her Blue Note Records debut with "The Omnichord Real Book." This album, following her 2018 covers project "Ventriloquism," features original material that draws from a wide range of her musical influences. Produced by Josh Johnson, the album includes guest artists like Jason Moran, Ambrose Akinmusire, Joel Ross, Jeff Parker, and more. It reflects Meshells life experiences and the impact of the pandemic lockdown on her creative process. She describes the album as a reimagining of old things in new ways and a tribute to her parents record collection. Meshell has a special connection to Blue Note Records, having appeared on their records in the past. She appreciates the labels emphasis on self-expression and musical exploration.

Concert venue

The Renaissance arcade courtyard of the Old Castle provides a unique atmosphere for unforgettable concert experiences. The Old Castle in Stuttgart will be the main stage for the first 5 days of the jazzopen from 18 to 22 July 2024. High-quality greats of jazz, blues and soul music will be presented here and there will also be room for adjacent genres, true to the motto: be jazz, be open.
